Yes, so I'm muchly behind on my posting. So sorry.
Here are just a few snaps of our trip um, last month. =]
While Mom stayed at our nice and cool hotel, I went along with Dad to renew my library card. To the Library of Congress that is. :D We spent most of our time searching as far back as we could on the Townsend side of the family tree. After Church that night, we tried to go see the fireworks (The 4th was on a Wednesday if you'll remember). We got as far as, well the highway and ended up just sitting there in three or four lanes of stopped traffic. But hey, they were great fireworks what we could see of them! :D
Dad and Mom watching.
The Moon.
Yeah, I don't know.
LOTS of cars. :) Our hotel was only five miles away if I remember correctly, and it took us about an hour and a half I think to get back... =]Arlington With Dad
Tomb of The Unknown Soldier
The view from Arlington House. (Once Gen. Lee's house).
Looking out and seeing in.
That way.
At the American History Smithsonian Museum.
This was an underwater ride dad and I went on.
Too cool in our 3D glasses huh. ;)
Pretty One of the Dumbo's from the ride in Disney
Silly Daddy.
Singin' in the Rain
The original scoreOutside we thought we heard a band playing or something. It turned out to be this street drummer that was very good! :) (They aren't real drums, that makes them ok right?! ;)
Down to the Metro
Oh, Petersburg VA. We were able to go to this battle field. It was much better than the horse trail that we found first... Yeah, Long story. ;)
Sunday after we went to Church, we headed off for Jamestown. Dad was in such at hurry that he forgot all about lunch. So I think it was around 3 or so before we stopped to eat and this cute little diner. :)
Waiting for our food. Yeah, it was really good! =]New Shoes. Or, shoe. (since you can only see one.)
The Jamestown Bench. Or, well, one of them. :)
What's this?
:DWhy don't we have these in MI?
Dad and I on one of the ships.
It wasn't a little hot. It really felt like you were melting.
Inside the giftshop.
Heading out.We stopped by a plantation on our way out of town, but it was already closed up, so we couldn't even see the house. But it was still pretty cool.
The day after we got back dad and I had to cut some tree limbs down.
The first one we got down with an old extension cord, that we tied a roll of ducktape to and threw over to pull it down. =] Just goes to show you can fix just about anything with Ducktape. ;)
Dad did that top part you can see cut out here, then we pulled back on the branch and broke a lot of it, Then I cut what was left. I didn't know how hard it was to saw like that! =]
The end
